midst of prelims.
i need to complain. haha.
biology practical today.
so sly la!!! i can't stand it!
the first question was very tedious..
we need to do 12 sets of results...
for only 1 part of question 1!!!!
then when there is 15 mins left,
most of the people just finish the 12 sets of results lah!
there was a second part to the question.
then there was question 2.. another big part of it.
then time's up!!!! (NOBODY FINISHED DOING THE PRACTICAL!!NOBODY!)
After that, everyone wanted a petition.
haha. CONFRONTED the setter!
DEMAND A MODERATION.
haha. but the word "moderate" is not in her dictionary.
dont worry. we will get her a new dictionary with the word "MODERATE". :D
she said she nearly tore all our paper 2 after marking. oh well..... haha

physics tmr!!
I pray that it would be an easy paper. =)

Question:Why can't we put our hands through a table? (Does it have to do with density and/or matter?)

Answer: If you try to put your hand through a table, you'll feel a force stopping you from doing it. But what force is it? There are 4 fundamental forces in the universe and everything can be attributed to them, and this case is no exception.
The four forces are Gravity, Electromagnetism, the Strong Force and the Weak Force. Clearly gravity isn't the force in question, firstly gravity is only ever attractive, secondly gravity is very very weak and only comes into play when you consider celestial size bodies. The Strong and Weak Forces only every occur on the atomic scale, and are very rarely encountered in day to day life. This leaves one force to be the force preventing you from putting your hand through a table, electromagnetism.

As you will know, everything around us is made of atoms. Atoms are made of very small nuclei (which, in turn, are made of positivly charged protons and electrically neutral neutrons) with tiny negatively charge electrons orbiting around them. Now when you try to get close to the table, the electrons orbiting the atoms in your hand, come in very close proximity to the electrons orbiting the atoms in the table. You can bring your hand very close to the table, until you think you are touching it. In fact, you aren't actually in contact with the table. The electrons in your hand are being repelled by the electrons in the table, creating a very strong repulsive force, which you think of as the 'hardness' of the table. It can be quite strange to think you aren't actually touching the table, you're nanometers away from it, and you can't get any closer! You can't put your hand through the table because the really strong electromagnetic force is causing the electrons in your hand and the table to repel! When you try to get closer, the table will move away, and this is due to the repulsion of the electrons being enough to cause a change in momentum of the table!

This is the case in every day life. Electromagnetism is the most common force we encounter (apart from gravity keeping us on the planet). And it can become quite infuriating if you think about it too much and realise you are never actually, truly touching anything!

i've been studying biology for the past few hours.
I can't imagine how God created everything. But He did!

A summary of 1/4 of the chapter.
When to eat dinner which consists of starch, protein and fats.
This is what happens...
Starch will be partially digested in your mouth by salivary amylase.
Then down your oesophagus to your stomach.
In your stomach, dilute HCl will change the inactive form of pepsinogen and prorennin
into pepsin and rennin. (gastric juices)
And pepsin digest protein into polypeptides.
Rennin then cudles milk protein by converting soluble casinogen into insoluble casin.
It then allows the pepsin to digest it.
In the small intestine, the undigested food (chyme) will stimulate pancreatic and intestinal juices.
Pancreatic juice contains pancreatic amylase, pancreatic lipase and trysinogen.
Intestinal juice contains enterokinase, maltase, sucrase, lactase, erepsin and intestinal lipase.
starch is digested by the pancreatic amylase into maltose.
Maltose is digested by maltase into glucose.
Lactose is digested by lactase to form glucose and galactose.
Sucrose is digested by sucrase to form glucose and fructose.
Bule emulsifies fats. Thus, pancreatic and intestinal lipase digest fats into fatty acid and glycerol.
Trysinogen is converted into trysin by enterokinase.
proteins is digested by trysin into polypeptides.
Polypeptide is digested by erepsin into amino acid.........
